Practical guide

A manageable first week of job searching

Build a small routine around relevant roles, careful applications and a record of what you actually sent.

Day one: define a useful search

Choose a small set of target roles, locations and work arrangements. Separate requirements you need from preferences you can discuss. Add your CV and review your AutoLinky profile before judging the matches.

Days two and three: read before applying

Open each promising job and check the original description, location and application route. Save roles you want to revisit. Compare up to three jobs in the web workspace when you need to weigh different requirements. Saved jobs and comparison selections stay in that browser.

Day four: send a few considered applications

For an email job, read the prepared letter and check the recipient before sending. For an external form or WhatsApp route, complete the steps at that destination. Opening a link does not mean the employer received an application.

Day five: review, then adjust

Check application statuses and your inbox. If the jobs are too broad, refine your roles and skills; if they are too narrow, review your location preferences. Judge the routine by relevant opportunities and completed applications, rather than a promise of replies within a week.
