Practical guide

Before you send an email application

Use this short review to make your recipient, CV and cover letter fit the opportunity you are applying for.

Check the opportunity and recipient

Reopen the original job description. Confirm the role is relevant, the application address matches the listing and the requested documents are appropriate. If the listing looks suspicious, verify the employer through an independently found contact before sharing more information.

Give the letter one clear purpose

Name the role, connect one or two of your real experiences to its requirements, and close with an easy way to contact you. Remove generic praise, repeated CV details and any claim introduced by a draft that you cannot support. Read the whole letter once before sending.

Check the document and sending account

Make sure your current CV is uploaded and your Gmail connection is working. A manual email application in AutoLinky lets you edit the prepared cover letter before choosing Send. Auto Apply is different: it uses the prepared letter without a review for every individual job.

Confirm the status, especially after an error

Look at Applications and your Gmail Sent folder. If the connection drops during sending, refresh the status before trying again: the email may already have been accepted. A sent status confirms sending, not that a recruiter opened the message or scheduled an interview.
