Practical guide

Connect Gmail for email applications

Understand the separate sending credential, check the connection, and know how to remove access when you need to.

Sign-in and email sending are separate

Your AutoLinky login identifies your account. Sending applications from Gmail needs a separate connection in Auto Apply. You can browse jobs and use external application routes without connecting a sending account.

Create a dedicated app password

The current sending connection uses a Google app password. Google requires 2-Step Verification for app passwords, and the option is unavailable for some account types or security settings. Follow Google’s official instructions linked below. Never enter your normal Google password in the sending form.

Connect, then review the status

Open Auto Apply, enter the Gmail address and its dedicated app password, and complete the connection check. AutoLinky stores the sending credential encrypted on the server. Connecting Gmail does not mean that you have to enable automatic sending. Review your preferences separately.

When the connection stops working

Pause Auto Apply and inspect its connection status. Google revokes app passwords after a Google account password change. You can disconnect Gmail in AutoLinky and revoke its dedicated app password in Google Account settings. Do not send your credential to support or include it in a screenshot.
